We are saying hello to the winter season here. We traveled to Quebec last month where they had already gotten snow. In Quebec babies have traded their strollers for small sleds which we will hopefully be doing here in New England. We went out in the snow today to mail some last minute Christmas cards with my trusty baby carrier and it kept us nice and warm.
For me the Holidays are mostly about tradition since we are not religious. We were married at the Unitarian Universalist church which we share similar beliefs with but do not belong to since we do not feel the need to belong to a religious group. Sadly, with all the time we spent travelling for my American visa this month, we didn't quite get to prepare for Christmas. We will certainly remember this year's December because we are now officially all legally living under the same roof! I am an Permanent Resident of the US, woo!
We are saying Goodbye to the travelling, stressing over finances and possibility of having our family torn apart at any moment.
On a totally different subject, we are also saying Goodbye to a piece of equipment many couldn't live without! Our house isn't on the bigger side so we decided to say Aurevoir to our microwave. Seems like a perfect plan so far. The reason behind it is not only the fact that microwaving isn't really good for you, but also that Liam and I's iron has been a little low.
The solution? Warm everything up in a 15oz cast iron melting pot. Sounds genius to me.
